God’s Calling is a new series that the ICSU Update team are starting in hopes to share the Christian experiences of ICSU community members. Ms. Han is an Elementary and Middle School ELD teacher and has been at ICSU for about a year and a half.

Q. Are you a Christian?

A. Yes, thank God!

Q. How did you discover God?

A. I was about 11 years old and my mom’s prayer group was being held in my house. When they started to pray I felt something weird and started to cry. After that I guess I believed that I was a sinner and Jesus Christ saved me with His blood.

Q. How did you discover NICS and why did you decide to work at a Christian school?

A. I didn’t know anything about NICS or ICSU. I just have gone to church, UCC,  and after 2 years of going I decided to be a part of the church. That’s how I spoke to Mrs. Havil and I heard they had a job opening for ELD and they’d like me to apply for the job.

Q. Has ICSU contributed to your faith? If so, how?

A. Absolutely! This job has been a huge challenge for me and I could’ve not survived if God didn’t help me. Haha! Also, I’ve been witnessing so many great Christian teachers here. They showed me how to serve the students with Jesus’ heart.

Q. Do you have a personal testimony?

A. 2020 was a very special year for me. I had a huge trouble in my family and it seemed impossible to get over. It was literally ‘The valley of the shadow of death’. God led me and my family delicately. He poured overwhelming  love on us so that we could endure all the time of suffering. He has made ways where there seemed no way. He taught me to surrender so that I can have everything in him.  He recovered my family, our relationship, and our faith through the year.

Q. Did God work in your life? If so, how?

A. He did and he will be working until I see him in person. HIs love has changed everything in my life. I found the purpose of my life in him and I am very happy with it. I am now living with contentment everyday and can’t wait to share it with others.

Q. When you think of “God”, what comes to your mind first?

A. He is my good father who loves, provides, comforts, protects, and guides me.

Q. If you could ask God one question, what could it be?

A. How can I be closer to you and get to know you better?
